Wet Clothes
If you frequent pools or saunas, always remove your wet clothes quickly. Wetness allows yeast to thrive. After taking off wet clothes, dry off completely before dressing in dry clothing.
Change your clothes after working out and getting sweaty. That can help, because it gives you a new “foundation.” Unsoiled clothing will lower your chance of getting a yeast infection.
Stress is one factor that can cause yeast infections. Stress keeps your immune system from working properly, which means that your body won’t be able to fight off a yeast infection very well.
Yeast Infection
See a doctor as soon a possible if you suspect you might suffer from a yeast infection. Allowing the yeast infection to go untreated will only cause it to worsen. Seek out the proper treatment at the first sign of symptoms.
If you get frequent yeast infections, you may need to change your bath products. Don’t use soaps that are scented. The chemicals in these products can alter the pH levels and can cause an imbalance that will lead to a yeast infection. Hypoallergenic items should be the only type you buy.
Stay away from diaphragms and condoms when you use any cream for yeast infections. The cream treatments for yeast infections diminish the effectiveness of some birth control. Stop having sex until the infection is totally gone. If you choose to be sexually active anyway, speak to a doctor and ask about effective birth control during this time.
Cider Vinegar
Each night, have a warm bath with cider vinegar (two cups) in it. The vinegar will keep the yeast from spreading and help your vagina restore its natural pH. It is not necessary to soak for a prolonged period of time in the bath. If it’s easier for you, you can douche 3 tbs. of apple cider vinegar per every quart of some warm water.
Consider eating yogurt. If you feel some yeast infection symptoms like itching or burning, try eating yogurt. Acidophilus is a healthy bacteria in yogurt. By re-populating the vaginal tract with some healthy bacteria like those found in yogurt, you reduce the yeast infection systems and it ends much more quickly.
A great, natural remedy for yeast infections involves apple cider vinegar. Dilute it with water, and then rub on the infected area. Because the vinegar is so concentrated, diluting it before application is crucial. If itching is really bothering you, think about putting some garlic into the mix for more relief.
One home remedy that works great for yeast infections is tea tree oil. A mixture of almond oil and tea tree oil is effective as a topical application on the vagina. Don’t apply undiluted tea tree oil, because it can cause unpleasant burns and irritation. This is a great way to combat infection and bring balance back to the female area.
Synthetic fabrics and tight clothing should be avoided at all costs. Apparel that is tight-fitting restricts proper ventilation and traps moisture and heat, particularly underwear. Yeast flourishes in a moist and warm environment that is created when there is poor air circulation. Look for clothes made from materials that breathe like cotton and ensure they are not tight.
Be careful when you are taking antibiotics. Antibiotics can kill off all the bacteria in your body, and that includes the good stuff. This bacteria can be essential, so make sure that you are careful when using antibiotics.
You can transmit a yeast infection to someone else quite easily. If you have developed an infection, wait a whole week after the infection is cured to start having sex again. If you have a throat or mouth infection, make sure anyone you interact with doesn’t touch the infected areas.
Overly tight clothing and synthetic fibers are contributing factors in many yeast infections. Yeast thrives where climates are warm and moist.
Yeast Infections
One thing you can do to beat yeast infections is to make a few dietary changes. Studies have proven that sugar promotes yeast infections, for example, and that yogurt contains beneficial bacteria cultures that can rid you of an infection.
Soaking a tampon in plain yogurt with a drop or two of some tea tree oil may help treat vaginal yeast infections. Allow the tampon to soak for fifteen minutes or so, then place it in the vagina. Inserting it for three hours spans can relieve the symptoms of the yeast infection.
If you suffer from chronic yeast infections, you should visit your doctor. Chronic means having more than four infections per year. They may be caused by something else.
Using natural cures can be a good way of fighting a yeast infection. Ingredients such as garlic and yogurt can help cure a yeast infection. As an added bonus, you probably won’t experience any annoying side effects.
